An explanation, in simple English, of the eight categories of passenger trains run by the German Federal Railroad as of 1991. These services are among the densest in the world, are largely electrically powered, and are maintained to very high standards. See video of these many different trains all over the former West Germany and learn the basic types of electric passenger locomotives.
